Elegance – The Incorruptible Beauty

The Daily Post – Word Prompt: Elegance

The inspiration for this prompt came from 1 Peter 3:3-4 (NKJV)

Do not let your adornment be merely outward—arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel— rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.

Elegance - The Incorruptable Beauty

Elegance is not the adornment of jewels
not the perfection of the hair’s style
Elegance is not fake eyelashes or painted brow
nor the bright lipstick coloring the fake smile
instead, Elegance is what is worn in the heart
the incorruptible beauty to others that we impart
Elegance is the precious spirit so gentle
and a quieted soul that glows like an angel
that brings tranquility to another’s anxiety
caused by the flickering candle within…
Elegance will turn the flicker into a flame
that will never again seek the outward fame.
