Time’s Gifts

Weekend Writing Prompt #33 – Time

Poetry Challenge – Write a poem of no more than 20 lines where the first line:

  • starts with the word “Time”
  • is repeated at least twice

Time's Gifts

Time, has many a definition
it can define a second hand’s repetition
it can be a memory from the past
or daydream of future time amassed
Time can be the medicine needed to heal a heart broken
by a friend’s brutal words spoken
Time can be something wasted on prideful holdings
or lovingly used on releasing forgiving unfoldings
it takes but a moment of time to take in a spiritual breath
and to exhale life on another soul to prevent death
Time can be our dear friend or mortal enemy
to us it can be grace to lend or to oppress humanity
Whatever form of time we choose to use
let us not take it for granted to abuse
but in gratitude appreciate every moment of time given
for it is a divinely precious gift from heaven!
