Jilly’s 28 Days Of Unreason Poetry – Day 9
Write a poem inspired by this quote:
“I’m hoping to be astonished tomorrow by what I don’t know ” – Jim Harrison –
from Tomorrow in In Search of Small Gods
Oh the anticipation of expectation
for the unknown to come our way
the astonishment of knowing
Infinite has something new to display
Keeping our complacency at bay
that joy of learning and growing
not become stale and stunted
or allow life within to become haunted
We must not let our hearts become prosaic
bringing death to our soul’s limerick
nor our minds to be lost in mundane’s wilderness
unable to converse with intellect
May we always with humble hope
for our tomorrows to astonish us
as our curiosities to know elope
with Infinite’s Unknown

This is epic…as you bring infinity closer to us: to hope, to dream, to keep our minds open.
I love the thought of our curiosities eloping….a fine analogy.
