Freedom To Exhale – Haibun Poem

dVerse Poets Pub Haibun Monday – Complexity Of Freedom

Freedom To Exhale

There once was a young girl caged in an inner prison of writhing suffocation. The muted voice bellowing to get out but was never heard for years into adulthood. She sought to escape and found a temporary way with her intimate lover, Jack Daniels and his companions. It was good for awhile then they betrayed her and she could no longer find the comfort she so desperately needed from them, then…

the Sun rose to shine
upon her soul so darkened
freedom to exhale
