Jilly’s 28 Days Of Unreason Poetry – Day 16
Write a poem inspired by this quote:
“You can’t write the clear biography of the aches and pains inside your skull”
Jim Harrison from Skull – Songs of Unreason
The aches and pains inside are being written for me
as an unending novel since I was born unto this earth
day by day from the first scream for the breast
and now praying for the Bosom’s rest
Every ache and writhe of pain
the pages with teardrop stain
with anger clad betrayals
along with the depression battles
Through these gut wrenching pages
hope has penned its lines
the greatest chapter grace defines
Love leaves its scarlet drops
and a continual harvest of new crops
The Vine tenderly prunes this branch
to grow abundant on the kingdom’s ranch
there are seasons of rain, sun, and new birth
keeping an all consuming fire burning in this hearth
You see, this novel is eternal with
never ending chapters scribed
before time began.
