Lust’s Humiliation

NaPoWriMo Challenge 2019 – Day 13

Your Daily Word Prompt – Characteristic – April 13, 2019

The Haunted Wordsmith Opposites Attract & Elemental Writing Challenges

Opposites Attract:  For this challenge, I provide one word and a list of its antonyms. The challenge is to use the prompt word AND one (or more) of its antonyms in some form of writing (or creative work).

Today’s word: grand.

Antonyms: humble, unheroic, unimposing, unimpressive.

Elemental Writing:   For this challenge, we will explore one of the four elements: air, earth, water, fire.  This week’s focus is Fire.  Simply use the word and/or image provided and be inspired by the natural element.

Today’s prompt and image: desire

Characteristic of many failed relationships

and too many broken hearts

are the ones that begin

with a lustful desire

that burns like a fire

deep within the body’s senses

an inferno that is deceitful

causing one to lose their common senses

and start believing they’re “in love”…

Grand it can be while it lasts

fulfilling empty needs until it’s not enough

and becomes a smoldering ember

that humbles the desperate lovers

into feeling like fools for believing

lust is love when it is actually death.
