V.J.’s Weekly Challenge #46: RESPONSE – For this week’s challenge, I thought it might be interesting to create a post in response to someone else’s work.
Many year ago
I used to keep
people down
with me so I
would not be lonely
it made me feel
falsely superior to them
I was jealous because
I could see their
possibility to soar
and I didn’t want
to be left behind
though I was never able
to hold them down
for very long…
*
But one day, Grace
came to meet me
in the down, empty
death in my soul
that I may soar
to lift others up
instead of hold them
and myself down.

Self-awareness is such a key, isn’t it! Wise insight. I wasn’t able to access the image – assuming the response is to that? Thanks for joining in.

Are you saying you cannot see the photo with the quote in it? It shows up on my page but did you try clicking on the link for the photo credit under my poem? It will take you to the page. The photo has this quote in it: As long as you keep a person down, some part of you has to be down there to hold the person down, so it means you cannot soar as you otherwise might. – Marian Anderson

I found out why the picture did not show because it was saved as a weird kind of file so I found another picture with the same quote that saved as a jpeg and now you will be able to see it. Sorry V.J.! ❤
