Madness of nation’s darkness

moments of light

few and far between

soul’s embitterment

taste intolerable

attempting to recall

memories of sweet

failure brings surrender

powerlessness cloaks eyes

exhale…inhale…

smell transition’s aroma

just as nature’s 

change of season

a promise to trust

good shall rise up and

shine like Autumn’s brilliance

laying to rest 

death’s shadows

upon humanity.
