An open gate invokes

invitation

Mother Nature beckons

Come, enter my sanctuary

inhale the fragrant aroma and

the kiss of Sun’s warmth 

where the soul is free to be

still in the quiet peace

away from the disconnect

of the cold concrete jungle

filled with the world’s chaos…

Alas, due to many limitations

I cannot accept her invitation

only gaze and meditate on

a picture of her and

imagine myself there 

yet I am still left with

the ache of sad
