life’s joys and sorrows
hopes, dreams and new beginnings
promises to come
expectations and let downs
in all these things are blessings
to behold in the New Year

V.J.’s Weekly Challenge #72: Wish – What’s in a wish? Do you dare to dream, to wish? This week, I challenge you to set your imagination free, unlock your heart, and wish.
Sadje’s What Do You See #3 – What words would you give to this picture?
She gazes at the art inside
to take her where her dreams lie
instead of settling for just a wish
which she cannot seem to accomplish
it helps her to escape her life’s reality
of her marriage’s violent incompatibility
she tells herself that one day she will be free
but until that day the art remains her reprieve.

The Haunted Wordsmith Genre Challenge #6
This challenge is a bit different than everything else in that it has two rules:
Response should use the photo prompt given
Response should be in specified genre
Today’s genre: Poetry
Today’s photo prompt:
Wafting in the deep blue indigo
her soul is lavished
in brilliant Autumn warmth
kissed with the hues of
sea creatures at her beckon call
to swim the depths, widths, lengths, and heights,
of an ocean’s infinity
where sweet dreams are vivid and alive flawlessly
untarnishable by the world’s imperfections
and there are no limits
to where imagination’s wings
can take her to soar
with new, refreshing, and
boundless places to explore
where boredom is not known
yet peace is food for the soul
wafting in the deep blue indigo.
Tuesday Weekly Challenge – What Do You See? – February 26, 2019
She stands in a dream
and sees her fantasy
a big beautiful castle
upon a mountain legacy
~ * ~
On a full moon night
it shines so bright
as big as a dream can
In the subconscious of a human
~ * ~
But will her fantasy come true
to live in her heart’s desire castle
filled with warm light and love’s hue
or will it always be…a fantasy futile?
