NaPoWriMo Challenge 2019 – Day 28 – I’d like to challenge you to try your hand at a meta-poem of your own. A meta-poem is a poem about poetry.
A poem is the poet’s soul…
sometimes truth, sometimes lies
sometimes a facade in disguise
it’s what can help a poet feel whole
A poem will convey the brokenness
the pain, the anguish, the tears that
spoken word cannot find a way to express
it is the poet’s breath when fear paralyzes
A poem can be the dousing of water
upon anger’s burn to become an ember
it can be the lyrics of a poet’s mind that prance
and the beat of a poet’s heart that dance
A poem is life’s seasons written all year round
it is the sound one hears when the poet’s heart pound
a rhyme, a rhythm, a frozen place in time held dear
the memories of love, joy, passion and laughter’s lyre
A poem is the stirring of the emotions going in circles
and the mind’s insanity turned into sanity’s miracles
it is the mad rambling of impatience and frustration
the soul’s muted torment within escape to freedom…
A poem is the intricate tapestry of a poet’s soul.

Sammi Cox Weekend Writing Prompt #54 -” Fountain”
This weekend your challenge is to write a poem or piece of prose in exactly 53 words.
Acrostic Poetry is where the first letter of each line spells a word.
Filled with an unending well of emotions
Overflowing with joys and woes, laughter and tears
Uniquely scribed on each soul’s tablet
Notwithstanding all the fears of
Taking time to breathe their heart
Anointing all whom inhale their intimacy
Igniting a passionate desire for another to share their truth
Neverending is the flow of love from a poet’s heart
