Word For The Day…

From:  Gratefulness.org

Someday, after we have mastered the winds, the waves, the tides and gravity, we shall harness for God the energies of love. Then for the second time in the history of the world, we will have discovered fire.

Lust’s Humiliation

NaPoWriMo Challenge 2019 – Day 13

Your Daily Word Prompt – Characteristic – April 13, 2019

The Haunted Wordsmith Opposites Attract & Elemental Writing Challenges

Opposites Attract:  For this challenge, I provide one word and a list of its antonyms. The challenge is to use the prompt word AND one (or more) of its antonyms in some form of writing (or creative work).

Today’s word: grand.

Antonyms: humble, unheroic, unimposing, unimpressive.

Elemental Writing:   For this challenge, we will explore one of the four elements: air, earth, water, fire.  This week’s focus is Fire.  Simply use the word and/or image provided and be inspired by the natural element.

Today’s prompt and image: desire

Characteristic of many failed relationships

and too many broken hearts

are the ones that begin

with a lustful desire

that burns like a fire

deep within the body’s senses

an inferno that is deceitful

causing one to lose their common senses

and start believing they’re “in love”…

Grand it can be while it lasts

fulfilling empty needs until it’s not enough

and becomes a smoldering ember

that humbles the desperate lovers

into feeling like fools for believing

lust is love when it is actually death.

The Haunted Wordsmith Elemental Writing Challenge April 11, 2019

For this challenge, we will explore one of the four elements: air, earth, water, fire.  This week’s focus is Fire.  Simply use the word and/or image provided and be inspired by the natural element.

Today’s prompt and image: smoking:

This fire that burns around

the black hole of my soul

incinerates the aches and pains of

a family love I never came to know

turning them into the death of ashes and dust

to be left in the abyss of space and time

never to return to me again leaving

only the sweet smoking incense of healing

an aroma that fulfills a vacated ache knowing

there is now only a peace from what never was.

In the ebony night sky

two lightning bolts come

together in search of each other

to become one accord…a

magnificent power of

fierce force igniting

the all Consuming Fire

traveling in the clouds

for all to be awestruck

with a reverence to enlighten…

God has spoken.
