Word For The Day…

From Gratefulness.org

Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude.

Crimson’s Creative Challenge #28 – Every Wednesday I post a photo.  You respond with something CREATIVE.

Outbuildings at Hethel

As a little girl growing up

living in a house of darkness

I developed this mechanical gadget

that helped me survive the atrocities

the only way a child could all on her own

As I grew into a young adult

this darkness would continue to rule

over my life attracting the darkness repeatedly

until this mechanical gadget could no

longer help me survive and finally broke…

Yet, this was the most beautiful day of my life

for I called out to no one but the One who would

pick up all the broken pieces of my mechanical gadget

and through His tender velvet touches of Grace

turned my mechanical gadget into a heart of love.

In The Down

Written In Response To:

V.J.’s Weekly Challenge #46:  RESPONSE – For this week’s challenge, I thought it might be interesting to create a post in response to someone else’s work.

In The Down

Many year ago

I used to keep

people down

with me so I

would not be lonely

it made me feel

falsely superior to them

I was jealous because

I could see their

possibility to soar

and I didn’t want

to be left behind

though I was never able

to hold them down

for very long…

*

But one day, Grace

came to meet me

in the down, empty

death in my soul

that I may soar

to lift others up

instead of hold them

and myself down.

Love’s Comfort

NaPoWriMo Challenge 2019 – Day 24 – Lachrymose – Locate a dictionary, thesaurus, or encyclopedia, open it at random, and consider the two pages in front of you to be your inspirational playground for the day. Maybe a strange word will catch your eye, or perhaps the mishmash of information will provide you with the germ of a poem.

Your Daily Word Prompt – Renew – April 24, 2019

Word Of The Day Challenge – Delayed

The Haunted Wordsmith Opposites Attract Challenge – Today’s prompt: heavenly.  Antonyms: atrocious, awful, execrable, lousy, pathetic, poor, rotten, terrible, vile, wretched.

Watertema soos myne mosaiek

When one has been battling illness,

trials and tribulations for some time

and remains faithful and diligent in prayer

yet the answers are delayed for many years

it can cause the soul to become lachrymose

and leave the spirit feeling wretched and broken

in these seasons is when grace’s strength is spoken

by helping us to renew our heavenly  hope once again

this is when we are reminded that even though the answers

have not yet come to relieve our sorrows and sufferings

Love’s comfort is always there to carry us through!

Proverbs 15:13 (AMPC)

The Gift Of The Swan

Your Daily Word Prompt – Examine – April 17, 2019

Word Of The Day Challenge – Lingering

The Haunted Wordsmith Opposites Attract & Elemental Writing Challenges

Opposites Attract:  For this challenge, I provide one word and a list of its antonyms. The challenge is to use the prompt word AND one (or more) of its antonyms in some form of writing (or creative work).

Today’ word: ancient.

Antonym: modern, new, recent.

Elemental Writing:  For this challenge, we will explore one of the four elements: air, earth, water, fire.  This week’s focus is Water.  Simply use the word and/or image provided and be inspired by the natural element.

Today’s prompt and image: cleansing.

Holy and sacred is the ancient water

that would be stirred by an angel

to bring cleansing healing and

turn ailments into the purity,

beauty, and grace of the modern day swan

representative of  a lingering elegance

which is almost impossible to not examine

for how can the eye of the soul not

be captured by this glorious creation

and the only requirement to experience this

is taking the time to slow down and breathe.

Dance Of Forgiveness

NaPoWriMo Challenge 2019 – Day 10

Your Daily Word Prompt – Flower – April 10, 2019

Word Of The Day Challenge – Vengeance

The Haunted Wordsmith Elemental Writing Challenge April 10, 2019

For this challenge, we will explore one of the four elements: air, earth, water, fire.  This week’s focus is Fire.  Simply use the word and/or image provided and be inspired by the natural element.

Today’s prompt and image: sizzling.

Sometimes another person’s tongue

can lead me into temptingly dark

thoughts of seeking vengeance embark

like cutting out the tongue leaving it

on a sizzling fire to burn split

and disintegrate into ashes lame

so no longer a soul it will defame…

but, then, by grace a better thought

comes to mind to relieve my distraught

and I choose the action of repentance

desiring to let love be the flower

that radiates its fragrance in my heart’s tower

allowing forgiveness to become the music I dance.

Over The Years

Your Daily Word Prompt – Drench – April 3, 2019

NaPoWriMo2019 – Day 3 – Write something that involves a story or action that unfolds over an appreciable length of time.

Twittering Tales #130 April 3, 2019 –  Each Tuesday I will provide a photo prompt. Your mission, if you choose to accept the challenge, is to tell a story in 280 characters or less.

Photo Prompt:

Over the years…

there were so many things

I did want to say

but never did because

I did not know the Love

that lives in my heart today

~ * ~

And then there were the things

I didn’t want to say

but alas, I did say them

whilst drenched in the midst of

the pain and anger of words

spoken that cut my heart

to bleed and speak its revenge

~ * ~

Then, little by little, step by step

through the years Grace divine

has healed the wounds refine

and blessed this tongue to speak kind

to no longer hurt the broken who

lash out as a shield of protection

instead pour out healing’s intention

so that they may drink from

the Julep of forgiven.

Proverbs 18:21 (AMPC)

21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it [for death or life].

The Zephyr Of Grace

Sammi Cox Weekend Writing Prompt – Zephyr

Your poem / prose must contain this week’s word.  The word does not have to count towards the exact word count total – it can be in the title, or the first letters of the lines of a poem can spell it out – you can be as creative as you want as long as it’s there somewhere.

The length of your poem / prose must match 101 words stated in this week’s challenge.  No more.  No less.

The Zephyr Of Grace

A soft gentle breeze kissed
her soul’s tears
comfort came and
held her close
until the tears dried up

The sunshine warmed
her within and
a smile dawned upon
her sweet little face
of pain there was no trace

And through the healing
she danced once again
the song in her heart revealing
loving touch from her Friend
a touch eternal

She grew strong to dance
through all life’s seasons
bringing joy to all who
cross her path
a joy eternal

She continues on till this day
her gratitude carries her along
to walk a love-filled sway
a sway eternal
