Ravaged

In Response To:

Crimson’s Creative Challenge #176 – Every Wednesday I post a photo.  You respond with something CREATIVE.

This desolate place

an embittered soul

with only a vague inkling

a memory of the vibrancy

that once was alive…

Now ravaged by life’s cruelty

cluttered in pain, sorrow, anger

aching for the Gardner to

tend and cultivate this

apathetic garden

that it may once again

thrive with blossoms of

hope, joy, and love

A bright light that

shall shine upon life’s cruelty

and defeat its purpose to destroy

victory in defiance.

Heart’s Desire Fulfilled

Eugi’s Weekly Prompt – Dreamcatcher – March 4, 2021

Hope deferred

is like a

lukewarm blanket

in the heart

dreams and desires fade

I call to the Dreamcatcher…

Dreamcatcher catch for me

tears of sadness I cry and

return to me laughter

Dreamcatcher catch for me

the misery and despair and

return to me joy

Dreamcatcher catch for me

this life mundane and

return to me extraordinary

Dreamcatcher catch for me

loneliness in this heart and

return to me a soulmate

Dreamcatcher catch for me

fire that burns within the Sun and

return to me a passionate hope

setting free the lukewarm blanket

never to be returned.

Proverbs 13:12 (AMP)

Hope deferred makes the heart sick,

But when desire is fulfilled, it is a tree of life.

The Watch That Keeps Time

In Response To:

Word Of The Day Challenge – Hope

As I prepare to enter

into the new year

I ponder the good times

before this year that

seem of a long time ago

finding them hard to remember…

~

As 2020 is laid to rest

with its devastation of

too many lost lives and

the Wisdom gained

from painful lessons

due to lack of uninformed

choices driven by fear…

~

I now meditate on

the new times with

faith they will become a

reality of cherished memories…

~

Alas, patience must persevere

while suffering through the surge

before the new times arrive so

I will let hope be the watch

that keeps time

making it worth the wait!
