V.J.’s Weekly Challenge #46: RESPONSE – For this week’s challenge, I thought it might be interesting to create a post in response to someone else’s work.
Many year ago
I used to keep
people down
with me so I
would not be lonely
it made me feel
falsely superior to them
I was jealous because
I could see their
possibility to soar
and I didn’t want
to be left behind
though I was never able
to hold them down
for very long…

But one day, Grace
came to meet me
in the down, empty
death in my soul
that I may soar
to lift others up
instead of hold them
and myself down.
