Sunrise of the soul
will Light the darkest of
Winter days
melt a heart
frozen
in bitter pain
angry and afraid
it will fill the
emptiest loneliness
comfort a body’s
weariness
bring peace to
malevolence
heal a broken
spirit…
So then let us
shine
the Sunrise of our souls
one day at a time,
one moment at a time
to permanently extinguish
and bring serenity to
this world’s pandemic wildfire

V.J’s Weekly Challenge #108 – Taste – Taste is the focus this week. As you might have guessed, I am tugging at our sensory experience with these current challenges, although the word ‘taste’ has other connotations. Look forward to your responses. Anyone can join in, and all forms of creativity are welcome.
a taste from flavors of past
sometimes embittered with pain
or soothing comfort of love
blessings to savor

Word Of The Day Challenge – Awakening
It begins with a
rugged, uphill battle
a road paved with
spiritual scars
unevenly paved cobblestones
these paths, not pretty,
not smooth, instead…
Wisdom building,
beauty making pain that
leads to a precious gift
a down for the count surrender
and there, we are met by God
where He gathers our
spiritual scars
weaving them into an
embroidered tapestry of
fulfillment through selflessness
that will shroud the downtrodden with
a Love that heals and conquers all!

When the wound to the soul
feels unbearable to endure
a walk into the pain
embracing the intensity
letting go and releasing
the next moment is then met
With a gentle, tender Love
and peace is restored
filling the soul in abundance
because pain was heard through
the voice of tears

RDP Saturday – Hope
Crimson’s Creative Challenge #61 – Every Wednesday I post a photo. You respond with something CREATIVE.
Can one permit hope
for the worn and weathered
years of life taking its toll
when weariness is the lyrics
that the outer shell sings
off key due to pain and fatigue
the high pitch notes that scream
louder than the inner happiness…
Can one permit hope
with a mustard seed of faith
in the Grace where our hope is found
that reminds us that this is but
a temporary suffering
for in the dawn of a new morn
this passes and the outer shell
has a renewed strength
the gift of a heightened faith
in a Love that bears all things.

Your Daily Word Prompt – Conspicuous – November 19, 2019
How daft my mind becomes
when the side effects of this
conspicuous autoimmune disease
overcomes this body in
unbearable ways and the
sounds of anger, agitation, annoyance
at every little thing is
delivered in a carriage with
a determined purpose to
laden my heart and my day…
grateful…for my julep of grace
that carries me through each time!
