Her Face

In Response To:

What Do You See #136 – May 30, 2022

A cut soul bleeds

stained tears upon

her face

a betrayal so deep

words cannot express

her face

the completed masterpiece

sorrow’s beauty

Conquest In Surrender

My spirit uplifted

positive, joyful

my body dispirited

riddled with autoimmune diseases

draining the life out of me

a battle that rages on

when in a flare up

the desire to be productive

to accomplish even

one or two tasks

defeated by the physical drain

an emotional and mental toll

negative dark thoughts

slowly creep in and grow

in volume…only recourse

for this hard rugged path

surrender to the powerlessness

muster up the compassion

to be patient, still, and rest

I have (MAS), Multiple Autoimmune Syndrome, which is defined as having three or more diagnosed autoimmune diseases.  I have wanted to blog about this for quite some time now through writing and using poetry.  This is my first attempt at doing this and I hope to continue as part of the healing process and helping others who suffer from chronic illnesses.  I want to thank V.J. at One Woman’s Quest and One Woman’s Quest II, who has inspired me through her journey with chronic illness.

If all you see

is the facade

of this mask

then you do not see me

Look beyond my skin color

and this imperfect body

gaze into my eyes

see this soul’s light

filled with Love

that accepts you

just as you are

as we all are…

so beautifully flawed.

Ravaged

In Response To:

Crimson’s Creative Challenge #176 – Every Wednesday I post a photo.  You respond with something CREATIVE.

This desolate place

an embittered soul

with only a vague inkling

a memory of the vibrancy

that once was alive…

Now ravaged by life’s cruelty

cluttered in pain, sorrow, anger

aching for the Gardner to

tend and cultivate this

apathetic garden

that it may once again

thrive with blossoms of

hope, joy, and love

A bright light that

shall shine upon life’s cruelty

and defeat its purpose to destroy

victory in defiance.

A Fragrant Drink

Eugi’s Photo Prompt:

As she reflects on her life’s journey

she stands in awe of who she has become

from what she once was – emptiness, death…

*

In her reflections into her soul

she sees a Dawning of Light

where once there was only darkness

a precious, gentle and quiet spirit

where there once was angry, violent rage…

*

She is returning to her True self of

whom she was always meant to be

always desired and strived to be

before her innocence was taken and

the oppression she suffered devoured her

leaving her soul dying within her…

*

Now in her Dawning of Light

she has risen from the ashes

to devour the oppression that

once devoured her becoming

the empowerment to leave behind

the darkness of an empty death

to a Woman graced in the wholeness of Love

A torrent came upon this soul

from whence I knew naught

it was not winsome nor was it cliche

this torrent tumbled me and dropped

me over the edge beyond depths

of waters I had seen before…

It was different, it was new

scary, yet exhilarating…testing my

trust to go beyond myself and

surrender to the Power that metamorphose

in unknown ways higher, greater than

what the human mind could ever conceive

a truly transformative gift of Love!
