The Gift Of The Swan

Your Daily Word Prompt – Examine – April 17, 2019

Word Of The Day Challenge – Lingering

The Haunted Wordsmith Opposites Attract & Elemental Writing Challenges

Opposites Attract:  For this challenge, I provide one word and a list of its antonyms. The challenge is to use the prompt word AND one (or more) of its antonyms in some form of writing (or creative work).

Today’ word: ancient.

Antonym: modern, new, recent.

Elemental Writing:  For this challenge, we will explore one of the four elements: air, earth, water, fire.  This week’s focus is Water.  Simply use the word and/or image provided and be inspired by the natural element.

Today’s prompt and image: cleansing.

Holy and sacred is the ancient water

that would be stirred by an angel

to bring cleansing healing and

turn ailments into the purity,

beauty, and grace of the modern day swan

representative of  a lingering elegance

which is almost impossible to not examine

for how can the eye of the soul not

be captured by this glorious creation

and the only requirement to experience this

is taking the time to slow down and breathe.
