Burdened

Yet another path to walk

an unending journey in life

sometimes tiring to endure

will it be winding, rugged,

smooth or straight with

obstacles to overcome or

this time will it be the path

I hunger and ache for

gentle, loving, peaceful

a place where I can

finally experience rest

for my body and soul…

only time will tell

Strength From Sadness

Written In Response To:

MLMM Heeding Haiku With Chevrefeuille Wednesday, September 11, 2019 – Sadness

As I was preparing this new episode of Heeding Haiku With … I realised that this date brings sad memories back to the world. Back in 2001 9/11 was a horrible day … a day full of death, despair, anxiety, tears … well all those emotions … just sadness.

An All-American patriotic print-LIBERTY'S SILENT SCREAM by James Meger. A Bald Eagle, the Statue of Liberty, and the American Flag--all powerful symbols of our great country. The citizens of the Unite

fallen to risen

a country that was betrayed

stands undefeated

Archaic Ache – Freestyle Poem

The Daily Post – Archaic

Archaic Ache

Archaic is the ache of my heart
for days gone by, days of ole
days before the cell phone got its start

When people walking down the street
would look each other in the eye
and smile into one another’s soul
now people never look up to see
the light of love and beauty
only looking down to see the inanimate object
their hands cling to so desperately

A loss of intimacy that once existed
now a disconnect of the warmth
that is no longer revisited

Archaic tears have now become new
for the loss of closeness we once knew
