A touch of frost
does my heart imbue
when sober spirits fly
beyond to what is unseen
Flailing every thought in my mind
causing each moment to be
like a hard days work
attempting to capture a breath…
Then, in a morn’s new mercy
the sober spirits return with
the heat of sun upon their wings
and melts my heart’s frost into
A love that ignites my hearth
and once again this soul is
insulated, protected from the
world’s brutal Winter.
