Tragedy To Triumph

MLMM First Line Friday Writing Challenge – “His smile was like some kind of magic.”

I’ll provide the first line, you get to write whatever comes afterward. Length, genre, and structure are completely up to you. Feel free to modify the line as you see fit, adding punctuation, quotes, or other bits if so desired.  Or for more of a challenge, change nothing.

Tragedy To Triumph

His smile was some kind of magic
but little did she know it would become tragic

Oh yes he had the smile and the swag
that blinded her to all the warning flags

His sensual sounding baritone voice would utter
all the words she desired and would melt her like butter

She was mesmerized into slavery by his command
and gave herself in ways her soul could not withstand

As time went on to his words of love he became untrue
her skin now wore the hues of black and blue

She cried out for help in the silent screams of her soul
heaven heard and cloaked her in a courage camisole

She rose to stand and gave him over to the court’s reprimand
and vowed never again to visit this deadly wasteland

With a redeemed soul her vow she has kept
and remains grateful for the tears wept

She tells her story a song of hope to the broken
that they no longer remain downtrodden

Her tragedy taught her to never trust a smile of magic
instead triumph by always putting faith in Perfect Love authentic

The Legend Of The Birth

The Daily Post Poetry Prompt – Legend

The Legend Of The Birth

The legend of the Birth
began before the beginning of time
foretold that it would one day be
the Birth to die to save humanity
the Birth would one day come to endure
from miscreants such bitter hostility
yet despite this would bring healing to remedy
the ills of all the lost and broken souls
with a Great Love from days of ole
and now comes the day 25 to celebrate
the Birth that saved humanity’s fate
So let us on bended knee transparent
with hearts washed whiter than snow
come and adore the Birth of the Ancient
knowing the Birth became the Death
that would imbue to souls the Breath
of eternal life through the tragedy
of the Cross that ransomed our malady
So let all souls be raised in thanksgiving
for there is no greater legend on this earth
than the legend of the Birth.

A Recipe For The Soul’s Milkshake

November Writing Prompts #NaNoWriMo – Tuesday, November 14, 2017

Word Prompts: mediocrisy & milkshakes

A Recipe For The Soul's Milkshake

To keep the soul vibrantly alive
add these ingredients to its milkshake
so that the soul may always thrive
First add a cup of the milk of Love
guaranteed to never run out
for it flows from Heaven above
Next, add the sweetness of Joy abundant
never will it become redundant
Then, add the flavor of Peace overflowing
and Eternal River unending
Be sure to never allow the bitterness
of mediocrisy to bleed in
for it will poison the life within
Last, blend it all together
and drink to your heart’s pleasure
that you may thrive beyond
to find for yourself a Divine treasure!
