The Haunted Wordsmith Opposites Attract Challenge #16
For this challenge, I provide one word and a list of its antonyms. The challenge is to use the prompt word AND one (or more) of its antonyms in some form of writing (or creative work).
Today’s word: crowded
Antonyms: bare, blank, devoid, empty, stark, vacant, void
Oh this mind…crowded
with so many thoughts
some that are welcome
and others that are not
~ * ~
The ones that are welcome here
bare my soul without any fear
a few of the thoughts can sometimes
leave me devoid of joy
~ * ~
Once in awhile I can blank out
on a precious thought
I so desperately wanted to keep
leaving a brokenness to weep
~ * ~
Then there are some
painful memories of the past
can leave an empty feeling on
what never came to pass
~ * ~
Remembrance of a time or two
when it felt like this soul
had almost been destroyed
these are the ones difficult to void
~ * ~
But all in all,
when it comes down to it
each and every thought,
memory, and remembrance is…
~ * ~
An exquisite rose with thorns
that His love will always adorn
with a crown of beauty
beholding Wisdom’s jewels
~ * ~
This, can only be gifted
through each step we take
of our spiritual pilgrimage
towards Eternity’s Gate.

The Haunted Wordsmith – Opposites Attract Challenge #11
For this challenge, I provide one word and a list of its antonyms. The challenge is to use the prompt word AND one (or more) of its antonyms in some form of writing (or creative work).
Today’s Word: glorify
Antonyms: abase – degrade – demean – humble – humiliate
Sometimes God…
cuts the soul so deep
that words cannot speak
nor can the soul even weep
the blood pools and overflows
drowning the heart and mind
making difficult to see kind
leaving one to just lay down
and fall into the blood to
a depth of silent pain
that can’t be wailed out loud
only to close one’s eyes
and be…the pain
that suffered and died
to rise again…and in this
one now knows the Heart
that was set apart
for the world…
~ * ~
Humble is the soul
that will glorify
this Ancient Love of ole
while being in the midst
of the pain that was kissed
by Heaven’s Soul

BrewNSpew Cafe – Word Of The Week
doldrums – (noun) – a state or period of inactivity, stagnation, or depression. Synonyms – inactive, quiet, slow, slack, sluggish, subdued, inert, flat, dull.
Each day a new day
the refreshment of new things
don’t always come to pass
some days the doldrums
of the sorrows of silence
take hold once again
as I long for the Presence
to speak the promises I await
but waiting to hear seems
to be my only fate
nature’s seasons are but months
but the soul’s seasons can be years
filled with so many tears
holding on can become a weary task
it is then I must drink from Hope’s flask
to continue on to my future’s promised destiny.

Rain so beautiful
soothing the soul
of pain taken hold
~ * ~
Anger at the injustice
in this world
that will never end
until this world
has become new again
~ * ~
Holding on to this promise
at times is so hard
defeating the spirit
until surrender is unbarred
~ * ~
Then wailing the sadness
of the sorrows seen
and burden of cares
is released into unseen
~ * ~
In the light of a new morn
with hearts no longer torn
we fill with a strength
to go the length
and stand to advocate
for broken souls left devostate

BrewNSpew Cafe Word Of The Week – lollygag
lollygag – spend time aimlessly; idle.
As this season of her soul
continues to lollygag down the road
filled with continuous mist and rain
crying the tears of her soul’s pain
~ * ~
She continues to hope with
each new day will come
a new season filled with love,
joy, eyes of laughter and fun
~ * ~
Dancing to her heart’s new beat
singing sweet lyrics of feat
looking forward and leaving behind
this long season so unkind
