Every Step Taken

In Response To:

Crimson’s Creative Challenge #115 – Every Wednesday I post a photo.  You respond with something CREATIVE.

The journey looks straightforward

as far as my eyes can see

then I begin one step at a time

in my stride I reach to where

my eyes could see before I started

and behold the path is no longer straight

it is broken, rugged, leading to

places I did not intend to go

with obstacles, twists, turns and confusion

losing my way to becoming

beaten down, weary, and ever so lost…

Then Love invited me to take His Hand

to lead me in a different way to walk this journey

a way called life still filled with the

same obstacles, twists, turns and confusion

only this time empowered with

the Strength of Grace…

Sometimes painful, sometimes seeming hopeless

yet, for every sorrow, struggle and tear wept

there is a promised healing birthing the

scars of Ancient Wisdom gained that

brings with it a bold, confident courage to carry on

with revitalized hope and appreciation

for every step taken

Hope In Hardship

In Response To:

FOWC With Fandango – Permit

RDP Saturday – Hope

Crimson’s Creative Challenge #61 – Every Wednesday I post a photo.  You respond with something CREATIVE.

Can one permit hope

for the worn and weathered

years of life taking its toll

when weariness is the lyrics

that the outer shell sings

off key due to pain and fatigue

the high pitch notes that scream

louder than the inner happiness…

Can one permit hope

with a mustard seed of faith

in the Grace where our hope is found

that reminds us that this is but

a temporary suffering

for in the dawn of a new morn

this passes and the outer shell

has a renewed strength

the gift of a heightened faith

in a Love that bears all things.

How Do I Get Through?

I received an email from someone in the AIP community (people struggling with autoimmune conditions, such as, Hashimoto’s, Graves, different forms of arthritis, any condition where the immune system is attacking some part or parts of the body) asking how others get through in the subject line. As I sat and pondered that question, I was inspired to write this poem. I myself have Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, Graves, Psoriatic Arthritis, and Adrenal Fatigue. This is how I get through as I work with God to put these conditions in remission.

How Do I Get Through?

I get through
the trials and tribulations
with faith in the One
who created me
trusting in His will
to carry me through
I look to no other
for no other has power
only the One who is
my High Tower
When I weary
and lose sight
I lean on the One
who is my Might
So, how do I get through
the only way I can
by taking hold of
God’s loving hand!

No Rhyme Or Reason

MLMM Saturday Mix Poetry Challenge – Same Same But Different

Use Synonyms For These 5 Words To Write Poetry Or Prose:

odd: seasonal, chance, random

fight: controversy, conflict

start: dawn, dawning, embarkation,

weak: fragile, frail, powerless, wavering

tired: drained, fatigue, weary

No Rhyme Or Reason

As a new day dawns
I find myself wavering
weary of the inner conflict
of peace and clarity I’m savoring
there is no rhyme or reason
for this inflict
only a random sort of season
Yet, I feel a heart’s desire
to a new embarkation of this day
I will not remain powerless to waver
nor drained to rise above controversy
and although this is a seasonal adversity
I will rise and take hold of my victory!
