Where the Way leads
one does not know
when walked without
preconceived notions
excitement of adventure
is awakened to
journey with openness
and receive all
that is new and
yet to be known

Maria Antonia Weekly 2019 Photography Challenge – Come join me, each Saturday, in posting a photo. There is a list of the prompts to help inspire us. The order of the photos won’t matter. In other words, you don’t have to start at the top and move toward the end. For this challenge, you may pick any prompt on the list and start with that. My Pick: Legacy

Jilly’s 28 Days Of Unreason Poetry – Day 15
Write a poem inspired by this quote:
“I’ve spent a lifetime trying to learn the language of the dead”
Jim Harrison from Sister in Songs of Unreason
Language whether written or spoken
is a precious gift given
it can bring life to a soul
or it can leave a desecrated hole
Language can be the wings that carry
or it can break the wings to tarry
it can be the lyrics that makes one sing
or turn a songbird into a mute cageling
Language has great and mighty power
penned words of the soul become poetic myrrh
an earthy sandalwood burning in the hearth
a fragrant jasmine that gives spiritual birth
Language also has the ability to destroy
used as a weapon of Satan’s convoy
the rape of a soul into persecuted oppression
leaving one’s worth in a state of recession
Language is a beautiful art when used wisely
let it not become defamed by using it despisingly
cherish it, honor it, and be love compliant
if not, then chose the art of remaining silent.
“The tongue has the power of life and death,
and those who love it will eat its fruit.”
Proverbs 18:21 (NIV)
